- Rajasthan introduces incentive for govt school staff
- State education department has set a new goal of ‘Drop Out Free Panchayat’ (DOFP) for teachers leading enrollment drives in its schools. Officials say that those gram panchayats which are declared DOFP will be rewarded by the state. The DOFP status is granted after officials confirmed that all children in the age group of 6-14 are enrolled in schools (Both private and govt). The reward includes postings at desired places, infrastructural development and upgrading schools. The aim of new initiative is to push teachers to collectively work for their respective panchayats.
- Every year state runs a special drive ‘Pravesh Utsov’ (Enrolment drive) in two phases—Early May and June last. During the drive the teachers have to launch several outreach programmes in the vicinity of their school to increase enrollments. Inspired by Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’s Open Defecation Free (ODF) villages, districts and the state, the campaign DOFP will be spread in in 9892 gram panchayats and 295 panchayats in the state . The DOEF aims to leave not a single student out of school in the upcoming session.
