The Northern Ireland protocol was designed to prevent checks across the border between Northern Ireland (US) and the Republic of Ireland (EU), following Brexit.

The Protocol came into force in the beginning of 2021.

The funding issue for the Kunming Biodiversity Fund will be taken up in January 2022 at negotiations in Geneva. Chinas pledge is below the $4 billion committed by Britain for conservation projects across the world as well as Frances commitment to spend 30 percent of its climate finance on protection of biodiversity.
