To establish a distinct identity for government vehicles, thetransport departmenthas stated a GV series for vehicles owned by government departments. The numbers of existing vehicles will be changed to the GV (government vehicle) series.

At present, there are three kinds of number plates; white number plates for private vehicles, yellow number plates for commercial vehicles and green number plates for electric vehicles. With the creation of the GV series, the state will have a fourth category of government vehicle.
