Indias first cloned indigenous Gir female calf produced at NDRI, Karnal

Scientists of theNational Dairy Research Institute(NDRI) in Karnal have achieved new milestone by producing countrys first Indigenous Gir cow clone calf.
The female calf namedGangawas born on March 16, but the achievement was disclosed on Sunday after observing her health for around 10 days. The weight of the calf at the time of birth was 32 kg and the new-born is keeping good health.

The somatic cells of elite cows are used as donor genomes, which are fused with OPU-derived enucleated oocytes. Following chemical activation and in-vitro culture, the developed blastocysts are transferred into recipient mothers to deliver the Gir calf.”

Centre identifies 70K women influencers contributing big to govts Garbage Free City mission

Recognising the women driving the governmentsSwachhtamission across cities and to make them free from garbage, the Centre has identified nearly 70,000 suchwomen influencerswho are engaged in door-to-door collection, segregation and management of municipal waste. Most of them are part of women-led Self Help Groups (SGHs).

The housing ministry said on Wednesday that out of the 9,000 SHGs, nearly 4,000 are working in the solid waste management sector and efforts are being made to extend assistance to such groups so that their members have better income and also take up more work. According to the ministry, four lakh women are directly engaged in sanitation and waste management as an enterprise in urban India.

Indian Army to set up GSAT 7B Satellite

GSAT 7B, an advanced communication satellite will be launched by 2026 for the Indian Army that will aid them in their complex missions.

The Ministry of Defence collaborated with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) for a project worth Rs 3,000 crore to support and increase Armys overall capabilities.

The satellite will be indigenously built by ISRO with its unique security features. This will strengthen the army personnel in India by providing high-level communication facilities to troops deployed in various fields.

Indias largest Space Rocket LVM3 went off from SDSC Centre, ISRO placed 36 OneWeb Satellites

ISROs big rocket LVM3 took off early morning today i.e. March 26, 2023 (Sunday). The launch was initiated at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The LaunchVehicle Mark-III (LVM3)placed a total of 36 satellites.

Moreover, these spacecraft align with India-2 Mission owned by UK-based OneWeb Group. The production has integrated 36 satellites that were successfully executed by the space station into orbit. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is the fast-growing and Indias leading space technology centre that carries out multiple missions.

Indias First Quantum Computing-based Telecom Network Link Now Operational: Ashwini Vaishnaw

Indias first quantum computing-based telecom network link has been made operational between Sanchar Bhawan and National Informatics Centre office in New Delhi. Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced prize money of Rs 10 lakh for ethical hackers who can break the encryption of the system and also launched a hackathon challenge for anyone who can break the system developed by C-DoT, with a reward of Rs 10 lakh per break

Connectivity plans must be consultative: NSA

The SCO meeting of top security officials on Wednesday sawNSAAjit Doval emphasising on the need for connectivity initiatives to be consultative and transparent, while also underlining the need to identify and implement sanctions against global terrorist entities.
With both China and Pakistan participating, albeit virtually, Doval recalled that the SCO Charter called upon member-states to have mutual respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity of states and inviolability of state borders, and to not seek any unilateral military superiority in adjacent areas.

India holds the presidency of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation this year and will host the summit in July.
